Collateral: point-of-sale materials; sales brochures and any other printed materials that support a promotion.

Contest: a promotional marketing tactic requiring the participant to use specific skills to solve or complete a specified objective in order to qualify for an award. Proof of purchase may be required to participate, but each entry must be judged according to prearranged guidelines.

Fulfillment: the work of receiving orders or other submissions from consumers, checking their compliance with the manufacturer's offer, and distributing the items offered, such as premiums, rebates, merchandise, bounce-backs, coupons, etc.

IVR (Interactive Voice Response): technology allowing computerized substitute to live operator.

Loyalty Programs: promotional programs designed to develop and maintain loyalty to a brand.

Pack: Packing an order into a box. If all the items in an order can fit into 1 box, then that equals 1 pack. If the order requires 2 boxes, then you would be charged for 2 packs.

Pick: Picking an item off the shelf. If an order consists of 2 items, you are charged for 2 picks.

Premium: an item of value, other than the product itself, given as an incentive to influence the purchase of the product.

Rebate: a return of a portion of the purchase price in the form of cash by the seller to the buyer. A discount offered via the mail. Also referred to as a "refund."

Sweepstakes: a promotional device that offers prizes to participants. The prizes are awarded on a random basis, and no considerations can be required.
