At USA, There’s Nothing More Fulfilling than Delivering Smiles

USA Fulfillment is proud to announce a new partnership with Happy Crates, taking fulfillment services to a whole new level.

Happy Crates Partnership

What kid wouldn’t want to receive something called a Happy Crate? Especially when it’s delivered right to their door, just for them? And what parent wouldn’t be proud to know that every time they purchase a Happy Crate for their child, another package is delivered to a child battling cancer – free of charge?

It’s all about using the power of a smile in the fight against childhood cancer. USA Fulfillment has just teamed up with Happy Crates to handle the logistics for this heart-warming venture, which is also headquartered in Chestertown, MD.

It’s who we are as a company

USA is donating space to house and pack the crates and is providing fulfillment services to ship the packages around the country.

Community stewardship and “good neighborliness” are natural byproducts of USA’s signature “high touch” business philosophy, so it comes as no surprise that our employee-owners have made room in their hearts and in our facility to support Happy Crates. Or that they have been among the first to purchase the products, too.

A gift from one child to another

The idea for Happy Crates came from 8-year-old Darren Leonard, who was born with a brain tumor and is now a seasoned warrior in the fight against childhood cancer. Early on, his parents Lauren and Derrick realized how powerful a simple smile could be, for their child and for themselves. They set out to create customized packages of smile-producing goodies for kids with cancer.

Each crate contains an assortment of specialty toys, games, books, costumes, and other items, based on the recipient’s age and gender. Crates can be ordered singly or as part of a 6- or 12-month subscription program.

Just as young Darren Leonard inspired the launch of Happy Crates, USA vice president and general manager Jay Stamerro says the Leonard family has been an inspiration to his team.

“We are so blessed to be part of this mission,” he says. “We love these kind of stories and it is so cool to see how everyone embraces this.”

He says the thing that impressed him most is that Lauren has never mentioned the word “profit” in any conversation with him. “Their mission is to give all the money back in the form of Happy Crates to those that need them most, the childhood cancer warriors battling for their lives. We are fully committed to making that happen in whatever capacity we can.”
